Terms & Conditions

PLEASE READ BEFORE PLACING YOUR ORDER

Payments
Prices are quoted individually due to the custom nature of our work. The total price payable is the price on the Invoice. Your order becomes confirmed when we receive the signed contract and initial 50% retainer. We do not reserve dates without payment of deposits and recommend that you, therefore, confirm as soon as possible in order to be sure that we have availability for your date. The remaining balance is due 14 days before the event date. Orders placed 14 days or less in advance of the event date must be paid in full at the time of booking. If the balance is unpaid after the due date has passed, we reserve the right to cancel your order without issuing any refund. We accept payment by credit card and Paypal only at this time. We are unable to accept payment by cheque.

All estimates in writing are valid for 5 business days from the date of quotation. If no payment has been made to secure a booking after 5 days and you wish to proceed with an order, we will provide a new quote based on prevailing cost and availability. A new quote may be higher than the previous quote given. The date of your full and final payment is the final date for any changes of size, style or flavors of the cake. Any changes requested after this date cannot be guaranteed and may be subject to additional charges.

Cancellations
Your 50% retainer secures a slot in our production for the week/s leading up to your event date. We accepted a limited number of orders for any date in order to ensure a high standard can be maintained. Should you no longer require a cake, you must notify us in writing in the first instance. The following cancellation terms apply: The 50% retainer is non-refundable at any time.  We will endeavor to refund any additional payments made with exception of the 50% non-refundable retainer, on the condition that your cancellation is received 14 days in advance of your event date. No refunds will be issued for cancellations notified 14 days or less before the event date. This is due to preparation work that has started, and loss of business from other bookings that we may have had to decline.

Delivery & Setup

Delivery and setup are required for all multi-tiered wedding and celebration cakes. Due to the fragile nature of tiered cakes, and because we are not in a position to repair cakes which have been damaged in transit after collection by the client, for your peace of mind we do not permit delivery of these cakes. Delivery and setup are charged at $1.50 per mile for all venues outside of Lawrenceville. If there are parking charges applicable these will be added to your invoice and payable in advance. It is the client's responsibility to check with the venue for any restrictions which may apply to the delivery and/or setup of their cake or dessert table. The client is responsible for ensuring there is an appropriate and secure table at the event location as cakes can be heavy. Royal Cake Studio will not be held liable if the venue prevents setup of any restricted elements of their order. It is the Client's responsibility to liaise with the venue and decorator/florist for tables, tablecloths, decoration and for the cutting and service of their cake unless otherwise expressly agreed with Royal Cake Studio. Sale and supply of cakes do not include cutting and service of the cake to the Client's guests, this service can be agreed for a fee.

Pick-ups

If you or your representative elects to pick-up your custom cake, you assume all liability and responsibility for the condition and transport of the cake once it leaves Royal Cake Studio’s possession. We will advise you on the safest place to transport your cake and caution that you should not leave your cake in your vehicle to run errands.

Cake Care

We are not responsible for any damages caused to the cake after setup is complete. Cake cutting instructions will be provided and a list of all internal structure (dowels, boards etc) that need to be removed before serving. It is the responsibility of the client to adhere to the cake cutting and serving instructions to ensure correct servings are obtained. If flowers are provided by an outside source, you acknowledge that fresh flowers are not a food product, and may contain pesticides, insects, dirt, or other contaminants. All cakes require an optimal room temperature of 75 degrees or below. Outdoor events or rooms with temperatures higher than 75 degrees will adversely affect your cake. The client assumes all liability for cakes that melt, collapse, or lean if displayed in temperatures higher than 75 degrees. We advised clients to keep cakes in an air-conditioned environment or in a refrigerator until service.
